The hidden difference: beneath the waxed cotton sheath runs a concealed poly core. Ordinary all-cotton cord degrades under UV — it quietly rots inside the frame until it snaps. This cord carries the strength of a modern fibre dressed in genuine old-world cotton, so it looks exactly right and won't let your window down.
