Draught Seals

Half the heat in an older Australian home leaks out around the windows and doors, and most of it goes through gaps you could cover with a finger. These are the seals we fit on our own installation jobs: brush seals riding in a carrier track, compression seals seated in a kerf, and surface mounted profiles for doors and hinged sashes. Fitted properly they stop the draught, the dust and the rattle, along with a surprising amount of street noise, and the sashes still slide the way they should.

For double hung windows, the carrier track and brush seal pair is the core of the system, with the brush chosen to stand 1 to 2mm taller than your gap. The compression seal handles kerfed grooves from 4.5 to 8mm, and you can order a free sample to check it against your groove before committing to a roll. Doors and casements take the perimeter seal, V-seal or a brush bottom door seal.
